Black Honey: "In a zombie apocalypse you would be my first choice"

In the first of our newly revamped Flying Vinyl podcast we headed to our new home at Pirate Studios in West London to meet indie sensations Black Honey ahead of the announcement of their debut album. The interview is a hugely in-depth look at the bands life over the last three years and everything that’s about to come. In the interview we chat about

inventing the idea of being a woman in a rock band (3:17), shit jobs, (5:18), cinematic referencing (7:36), dropping the strict ‘no synth policy’ (10:20), the outrageous new album (12:14), filming at a western-style theme park without permission (17:30), soul sapping social media (21:30), getting pissed in label meetings (27:05), what it means to be a Flying Vinyl band (31:00), how being a woman in tech is tougher than being a woman in music (33:06) and finish with newly released anthem ‘I Only Hurt The Ones I Love’. Viva La Revolution.

A must for anyone in to music

I am already a subscriber to the monthly vinyl drop through my letterbox that is Flying Vinyl. The podcast complements this perfectly, but also would be great to listen to as a standalone podcast for anyone who is interested in music. A great way to hear some new tunes as well.
