Inauguration: On a Wing and a Prayer

On Inauguration Day, not everyone will be talking about the inauguration of the next U.S. president; some (like me) will be talking about the animals hidden within the word itself. Join me for a journey back to ancient Rome to reveal the birds behind the words inaugural, inauguration, auspicious, auspices, and more.

Yes, I Have Hope. No, I'm Not a Mythical Creature

I have been an animal advocate for more than 25 years, and I see enough cruelty every day to have a pretty bleak view of the world: And yet, I have hope. No, I’m not a mythical creature. No, I’m not delusional, and yes, I’m paying attention.

    Angry Vegan vs. Joyful Vegan

    Angry Vegan vs. Joyful Vegan

In this episode, I explain why feeling anger (or sorrow) at the plight of animals is understandable, letting anger define you is detrimental. Here's how to be a joyful vegan with passion, purpose, and power rather than anger, outrage, and indignation.

    Animal-Free Fertilizers for Healthy Gardens

When it comes to human nutrition, the bottom line is: the nutrients we need are plant- (and bacteria-) based. Not animal-based. When it comes to healthy soil: the same is true. The nutrients that plants need to grow come from the ground — not animals.

A Lovely Podacst

I love listening to Colleen. All her episodes are inspiring and informative. Her message is clear, crisp and always on point. She touches a wide range of topics from being vegan, to zero waste to how to live a meaningful life. But you can also find episodes on kitchen appliances and etymology of words animal related. It never gets boring and always fascinating.

Important, informative, insightful.

Such an incredibly important podcast, super informative and always insightful. Thank you for this.

Stupid, wrong and dangerous

Dubious science. Weak epidemiology. Yet another delusional, prematurely aged vegan promoting malnutrition and starvation. Avoid!
