Book Club: Kicking Back – Nedum Onuoha

Book Club: Kicking Back – Nedum Onuoha

Today’s guest isn’t afraid to speak his mind and is deeply analytical about the world of football. Former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers defender Nedum Onuoha joins Kate and Jim to reflect on his new book, Kicking Back!
With fascinating insight, Nedum pulls back the curtain on dressing room culture and some of its more sinister, insular habits, and discusses why he found the sport to be so resistant to change. Plus, why he fell out with Roberto Mancini, the worst training session he ever saw, and responds to some recent suggestions that QPR threw in the towel against Manchester City on * that * final day in 2012!
Nedum's book is now available to order in paperback here! Find us on socials @footballramble.

    Ramble Meets… Hannes Þór Halldórsson

    Ramble Meets… Hannes Þór Halldórsson

The Iceland national team’s run at Euro 2016 and qualification for the 2018 World Cup is one of football’s greatest ever underdog stories. Today, Andy speaks to one of the players at the heart of it all!
Hannes Þór Halldórsson was Iceland’s first choice between the sticks for a decade, despite only picking up his gloves when he was 20. From saving a Lionel Messi penalty at the World Cup, to delivering that defeat to England, you could barely write Hannes’ story it’s so unbelievable. And he should know: he’s now a filmmaker! He tells Andy all about a truly remarkable career.

Women’s football

Enjoyed this while cleaning the windows. Will look forward to the next episode - without the cleaning!

Sadly gone downhill

On The Continent used to be my go-to show for European continent, however with Dotun now hosting it is now almost unlistenable for me, as he slows the tempo and doesn’t have the requisite knowledge - I feel the good flow of the show has gone. There are now way better alternatives, sadly.
