Having a shared mission can be energising and motivating – it's the way the world gets changed. Today is Vision Sunday and the launch of gift month where we hope to inspire people to commit to the mission and vision of the church. Steve will explain the purpose behind the practices of the Forge and encourage all of us to unite in 'helping people find and follow Jesus.

Have you ever met someone who changed your life? If we’re lucky, we might meet more than one inspirational person and take meaningful things from each encounter. In this series, ALIVE, we retell the stories of some of the people who met Jesus himself after his resurrection and whose lives were transformed by him. Sadly, we can sometimes settle for less than a life that is fully fulfilled, or our purpose can be misguided. When Jesus met with Saul on the road to Damascus, he was given three things that are still part of what it means for us to have a sense of purpose today: a transformed motivation, an eternal perspective and a unique pathway. A life with a true sense of purpose is offered by Jesus when he joins his mission with ours: go and make disciples.

True peace was at the heart of God’s original creation, and God has a plan for us to enjoy peace now. Having made stunning promises of peace during his life, Jesus then secured peace for all time though his death and resurrection. Peace freed the disciples from guilt, fear and anxiety, before they were filled with a positive vision of the future, and in the same way, God’s peace empowers us to follow our purpose.

The most powerful transforming factor in any relationship is love. Agape – unconditional love – is what freed Mary Magdalene and gave her new identity, a sense of belonging and a powerful purpose. These things are also available to us, should we choose to engage with the risen Jesus.

The Forge Community Church is a church in Suffolk with a mission to help people find and follow Jesus. The Forge meet physically in Debenham Community Center and have environments for adults kids and youth. We also offer church online so you can connect with the Forge anywhere, anytime, not just those in Mid Suffolk.
