008 - Sex in Public - Jackson King Free Sex

    • Health & Fitness

Why can’t we have sex in public?
My guest in this episode is Jackson King, a writer, journalist and pro dom (professional dominant). Jackson’s way to free sex is through the political and public liberation of sex. In this interview, he breaks this all down for me: from legal rights, to the priorities of the LGBTQ+ movement, from what it means to have complete control over your own body, and to how sex cops are policing us.
We talk about kinky sex parties, how sex was completely forgotten about during the Covid lockdowns, and why it’s weirdly acceptable to say at a dinner party that you’re “trying for a baby”, but not that you’re raw-dogging—when really it’s the same thing. You can find Jackson’s amazing writing and other work here.
I hope that you enjoy this conversation with Jackson as much as I enjoyed taping it. Here you go!
Here’s the essay Jackson refers to in the episode: Sex in Public by Lauren Berlant and Michael Warner.
