Harmony Byrne sets us on fire - well done Tobin

Harmony Byrne sets us on fire - well done Tobin

Taken by Canadians spins in the studio today from off of the vinyl. Magdalene is the first of two tracks this week dedicated to women. It sparks further debate from the boys on other song dedications from over the years. And with two Cover Shots this is building up to be a great show. So that's Magdalene from Taken by Canadians and Jolene from Susanna & The Magical Orchestra. Proof that Richard has not been repressing women for centuries as he was once accused of by his youngest daughter.

SHY Martin gives us an emotional crutch

SHY Martin gives us an emotional crutch

The Telyscopes left Virginia and now sing out of Philadelphia. Not to be confused with the flavourless emulsion cheese of the UK. The Telyscopes are anything but. Flavour aplenty here. We have two tracks from Richard's favourite go-to band of the moment. Sequencer driven indie guitar thrashing track that opens up the show and their Beefheart-esque show closer. However. more than the really quite excellent The Telyscopes, Tobin brings SHY Martin to the show.

Dude Cervantes - It Ain't The Destination It's The Ride

Dude Cervantes is spinning direct from the as yet unreleased vinyl in the studio today. It's a cover of a classic and not to be missed. The cover artwork is excellent and FTBOTRB deems this an essential record to your collection. In fact, you can watch and listen to Dude Cervantes' latest release in the video that accompanies these show notes. Excellent news all round. However, that's not the only Cover Shot on today's show. Tobin brings us Saint Mesa and a cover of a modern classic from a legendary band.
