Geektown Radio 351: ‘Sandman’, ‘La Brea’, 'Atlanta' Reviews & What Is Happening With WB/DC? Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!

Geektown Radio 351: ‘Sandman’, ‘La Brea’, 'Atlanta' Reviews & What Is Happening With WB/DC? Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!

We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Matt begins by giving his reviews of 'Atlanta' which returned recently to Disney+ for Season 3, alongside watching the final season of his beloved series 'Love, Victor', also on Disney+. Meanwhile, I have been catching up with 'Solar Opposites' Season 3, and also the latest season of '9-1-1: Lone Star'. However, I also delved into a couple of new shows this week, including Neil Gaiman's adaptation of his own comic book in the much-anticipated Netflix series 'The Sandman', and the wonderfully wacky, but very entertaining, NBC show 'La Brea', which has landed, randomly, on Paramount+ UK.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, including 'The Punisher' not returning (yet), Paramount+ UK scanning the globe for more content, and Andy Serkis tackling the queen of waxworks. In the main news, we focus on one big story... Just what on earth is going on with Warner Bros Discovery and DC? We talk about the announcements made last week about the future of the DCEU, the cancellation of 'Batgirl', and where things are heading for the newly merged company.

Geektown Radio 350: ‘Paper Girls’, ‘The Gray Man’, ‘CSI: Vegas’ Reviews, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!

We are back with our 350th episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by our Film Reviewer Gray in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Gray begins, as he usually does, with his top five film news stories of the last month, although this time has a little twist as they are all Marvel-related following on from SDCC last week. He also reviews both the Netflix film 'The Gray Man' (disappointed to learn it isn't about him!), and the 'Bob's Burgers' movie, along with catching us up on the TV shows he has been watching over the last month. Meanwhile, I review the new Amazon comic book adaptation 'Paper Girls', and we both chat through our return to 'CSI: Vegas' after many years away!
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, including the end of the Arrowverse, and the possible return of Max Headroom! We also discuss Disney+ getting in on the dragon action, casting for the 'Orphan Black' spin-off series, and the potential revival of a massive 90s Saturday evening series.

Geektown Radio 349: ‘Marvel At SDCC’, ‘Avengers Campus’, ‘Better Call Saul’, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!

After a somewhat extended summer holiday break, the Geektown Radio podcast is back with a new episode, and I'm joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Matt begins by catching me up on some of the shows he's been watching whilst I've been away. They include his thoughts on 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds', and also the latest season of '9-1-1'. Meanwhile, tv watching has taken a bit of a backseat whilst I was on holiday, however, I did finish off 'Ms. Marvel', and also caught up with 'Better Call Saul', so we discuss both those. In addition to that, I talk about experiencing the Avengers Campus at Disney's California Adventure, along with returning to Galaxy's Edge and building a lightsaber!
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups since we have been away (and their are quite a few!) We also discuss the new Julie Plec show 'Vampire Academy', casting for 'Black Mirror', the Marvel Panel from SDCC, the new series coming to 'The Walking Dead' franchise, and 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' getting a very interesting crossover!

Geektown Radio 348: 'Umbrella Academy', ‘HALO’, ‘Strange New Worlds’, ‘Big Boys' Reviews, TV News & UK Air Dates!

The Geektown Radio podcast returns for our last show before we take a little Summer break, and I'm joined by our Film Reviewer Gray the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
As Gray returns to the show, he brings with him his top five film news stories from May and June, keeping you up-to-date with everything going on in the world of cinema. He also brings us reviews of both 'Jurassic World: Dominion' and 'Lightyear'. On the tv side, he discusses Channel 4 comedy 'Big Boys', 'The Time Travelers Wife' on Sky, and the final season of 'Love, Victor'. We also discuss the newly-launched Paramount+ streaming service. Speaking of which, I review the new 'HALO' series and 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds', along with 'The Umbrella Academy' Season 3.
Over in the TV news, we chat through the usual renewals, cancellations and pick-ups including 'Snowpiercer', 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and 'CSI: Vegas'. We also chat about knowing nothin' (well... a few things...) about the new 'Game of Thrones' series featuring the return of Jon Snow, a new Apple drama starring Peter Capaldi & Cush Jumbo, and casting for the 'Teen Wolf' adjacent series 'Wolf Pack'. It's a packed show to keep you busy whilst I'm off for a few weeks. See you again in late July!

Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 61: Stunt Coordinator Matt LeFevour - 'Shining Girls', 'The Batman', & Doubling Chris Hemsworth!

Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 61: Stunt Coordinator Matt LeFevour - 'Shining Girls', 'The Batman', & Doubling Chris Hemsworth!

I know many of you might be expecting a normal Geektown Radio episode this week, but unfortunately, we had to skip it due to timing issues. We usually record on Mondays, and I was in London interviewing the cast of Halo (watch out for that interview coming soon!)
However, to tide you over until next week, we have an interview with Stunt Coordinator Matt LeFevour, who has worked on a huge array of tv shows and movies, both performing and coordinating stunt work. He was stunt coordinator on the Apple TV+ series 'Shining Girls', Showtime series 'The Chi', along with working on Chicago Fire, Med and PD.
On the film side, Matt stunt coordinated Aaron Sorkin’s six-time Oscar-nominated feature 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' which earned him a SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble. He has also worked on various comic book projects including almost all of the Batman films from 'Batman Begins' through to 'The Batman', where he served as assistant stunt coordinator.
In addition to all that, he is Chris Hemsworth's stunt double for many of his movies, including the 'Thor' films and other appearances in the MCU. He is currently working on 'Power Book IV: Force', and was stunt coordinator on 'Mike', the upcoming Hulu drama based on the life of heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

Geektown Radio 347: 'Ms. Marvel', 'First Kill', 'Lazarus Project' Reviews, TV News & UK Air Dates!

The Geektown Radio podcast returns with Darryl from Hollywood North News in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
It is another busy week on tv as Darryl steps into 'First Kill', the new YA vampire series from Netflix, along with reviewing Chinese sci-fi 'Shanghai Fortress', and we catch up with 'The Boys'. Meanwhile, I preview the new Sky time-loop sci-fi drama 'The Lazarus Project', along with reviewing this week's big Disney+ release, 'Ms. Marvel', and HBO drama 'We Own This City' from 'The Wire's David Simon.
Over in the TV news, we chat through the usual renewals and cancellations. We also catch up with all the news of days two to five of Netflix's "Geeked Week" event (as we covered day one last week), which features lots of new animated series, along with a number of games which will be joining the platform! The other big event last week was “Ghostbusters Day”, which saw them announce some new movie projects, alongside new animation, comics and games.
