    • Society & Culture

Derek A. Bardowell is a philanthropy advisor, transformative coach and author of Giving Back: How To Do Good, Better.

Once a music journalist and youth worker, Derek’s first book, No Win Race, explored race and racism in modern Britain through the prism of sport, and was both a Sunday Times and Financial Times book of the year.

In Giving Back, he reimagines philanthropy and explores how big social problems - from climate change to racial injustice - can be tackled in modern society by all of us.  Derek is the CEO of Ten Years’ Time, an organisation that exists to help donors and foundations to interrogate their wealth, unlearn harmful practices and develop holistic and equitable approaches to philanthropy.
