𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Dr. Michael Wasserman joins us for episode two of our Grow & Go series where we discuss the fears families have about their loved ones in senior living and the ways this pandemic might change long-term care delivery for the better.  

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 Dr. Wasserman has recently been featured on Anderson Cooper, CNN, CBS and other media outlets where he has voiced concerns about how senior living communities have handled patient care and family communication since mandatory visitation restrictions due to coronavirus have gone into effect. Dr. Wasserman is a geriatrician who has devoted his career to serving the needs of older adults. He is currently the president of the California Association of Long Term Care Medicine as well as Editor in Chief of Springer’s upcoming textbook, Geriatric Medicine: A Person Centered Evidence Based Approach. He is also an acting medical director at a skilled nursing community in California.

𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹 Dr. Patel is the Chief Medical Officer for Pure Healthcare in Dayton, Ohio--the first free-standing palliative care center in the U.S. Pure Healthcare provides a centralized location for care coordination, early education, and stabilization of chronic health risks all while focusing on a person’s unique care goals. Additionally, he is the Medical Director for Innovative Care Solutions and the Regional Chief Medical Officer for five Ohio’s Hospice Affiliates. He is board certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
