How Much To Charge For Your Hand Lettering
EP13 - Pricing can be really difficult especially when you're first starting out at lettering, or if a friend asks for some lettering work you don't always know what to charge. Renata, a member of the Hand Lettering HQ community I manage raised the question of 'How much should you charge for lettering especially if it's for a friend?'. I knew this question wouldn't lead to a short response, and it didn't feel right featuring it at the end of a podcast episode, so I have shaped an episode around it. I discuss my pricing experiences and mistakes, and share helpful information I have learnt along the way to guide you in making informed decisions about setting your own pricing.

Featured Lettering Artist Dallas Clayton
EP12 - Dallas Clayton is a very skilled and talented artist. His work can take on many forms and often sends out great messages too. In 'Featured Lettering Artist Dallas Clayton' I give a little intro about Dallas and then discuss a piece of work that he created which stood out to me. I provide an inspiring quote for you to have a go at hand lettering in whatever style that takes your fancy. Then towards the end of the episode answer a very common question that many lettering artists will question at least once if not more in their lettering journeys.

Thumbnail Sketches, Should You Be Using Them
EP11 - Thumbnail sketches have a lot of benefits but it's not always obvious what they are, often doing the extra work of drawing out multiple thumbnail sketches can seem pointless. I challenge the misconceptions about using thumbnail sketches through sharing my own experiences and mistakes.

Just found you
Hi Tam,
I’ve just found your podcast and listened to the first one, which was great and really interesting. I’ve been doing calligraphy for a year now and have just finished a copperplate course. I’m now learning to Hand Letter with Mye De Leon, which I’m really enjoying.
I think you may have stopped doing your podcast, but I’ll keep listening anyway to catch up. I’ve found you on Instagram and am following along. My Instagram account is @joslettering.
