HorseRacing From Home Podcast #7 | 2020 Glorious Goodwood & Galway Festival Special with Chris Baker

HorseRacing From Home Podcast #7 | 2020 Glorious Goodwood & Galway Festival Special with Chris Baker

Join Nick Seddon for the latest edition of the HorseRacing From Home Podcast, which looks ahead to this year’s Goodwood Festival and the Galway Festival.

Nick is joined by our resident tipster Chris Baker, who runs through the key races on the first four days of action - with Saturday’s Stewards’ Cup sadly passed over due to a lack of entries.

Tuesday’s feature is the Group 1 Goodwood Cup, which Stradivarius is aiming to win for a fourth time. He faces a tough task, though, and will have to concede 15 lb to this year’s Irish Derby winner Santiago.

The Group 1 Sussex Stakes headlines Wednesday’s card, and we’re set for a stellar renewal this year. Chris provides his thoughts on each of the runners, including Siskin, Kameko, Mohaather and Circus Maximus.

Twenty-four hours later is a red hot Group 1 Nassau Stakes, and five of the eight-strong field arrive here with a Group 1 win under their belts, including last year’s winner Deirdre. Also on the card is the Group 3 Gordon Stakes, and Chris gives his views on a contest full of horses from the Epsom Derby.

Friday is headlined by the Group 2 King George Stakes, and we look at whether Battaash can win this for the fourth year in a row, and justify 5/2-on favouritism in the process.

Lastly, Chris hops into the presenter’s chair and puts the pressure on Nick, who takes us through the two main races over in Ireland at this week’s Galway Festival; the Galway Plate on Wednesday and the Galway Hurdle on Thursday.

A special thanks to our partners Paddy Power, who have very kindly sponsored this week's episode of the podcast. Head over to www.paddypower.com for a week full of offers and enhancements for all five days of Glorious Goodwood (and all seven days of the Galway Festival).

HorseRacing From Home Podcast #6 | 2020 Epsom Derby Special with Chris Baker

HorseRacing From Home Podcast #6 | 2020 Epsom Derby Special with Chris Baker

Join Nick Seddon for the latest edition of the HorseRacing From Home Podcast, which looks ahead to this year’s Epsom Derby and Oaks.

Nick is joined by our resident tipster Chris Baker to preview the 2020 Epsom Derby, and he gives his views on each of the 17-runner field for this year’s classic.

The market is headed by English King at the time of writing, and Chris gives his views on the controversial decision to replace Tom Marquand with Frankie Dettori, before touching on the Aidan O’Brien battalion, which includes Vatican City, Russian Emperor and Mogul.

We also take a look at this year’s Epsom Oaks, in which the Aidan O’Brien-trained Love will be aiming to become the first filly since Minding in 2016 to follow up at Epsom after winning the Guineas. She’s an even money favourite, though last month’s Ribblesdale Stakes winner Frankly Darling is a well-fancied second favourite for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori.

There’s also some top-class racing on Sunday, which is headlined by the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse. The star attraction is the superstar mare Enable, who will be aiming to win this race for the second year running. We take a look at her opposition, and touch on just how much of an ask it will be for the six-year-old to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe for a third time in the autumn.

A special thanks to our partners Betfred, who have very kindly sponsored this week's episode of the podcast. Make sure you check out Freds Pushes this Saturday at 10:30 to see whose price we have boosted! (Freds Pushes available for a limited time only. Max Stakes Apply & General Betfred rules apply).

HorseRacing From Home Podcast #5 | Royal Ascot 2020 Special with Chris Baker

HorseRacing From Home Podcast #5 | Royal Ascot 2020 Special with Chris Baker

Join Nick Seddon for the latest edition of the HorseRacing From Home Podcast, which looks ahead to this week's Royal meeting.

Nick is joined by our resident tipster Chris Baker to preview Royal Ascot 2020, and he gives his views on 14 races across the five-day spectacular.

Chris takes a look at five races on Tuesday's card, including the King's Stand Stakes, for which Battaash is a commanding 6/4-on favourite.

On Wednesday, we preview the Prince of Wales's Stakes, for which last season's King Edward VII Stakes winner Japan is a short price for the Aidan O'Brien team.

The feature race of the meeting is Thursday's Ascot Gold Cup, a gruelling test of stamina over two and a half miles. Stradivarius is a 2/1-on favourite to win this for the third year running, though Chris suggests some alternatives at bigger prices.

Friday's Commonwealth Cup has produced some top-class sprinters, and we look at whether any of this year's 20-strong field can follow in the footsteps of an illustrious roll of honour, which includes Muhaarar.

Lastly, we chat about Saturday's Diamond Jubilee Stakes, for which the Irish raider Sceptical - a cheap £2800 purchase and the ride of Frankie Dettori - is the favourite at the time of recording.

A special thanks to our partners Paddy Power, who have very kindly sponsored this week's episode of the podcast. Head over to www.paddypower.com for a week full of offers and enhancements for all five days of Royal Ascot.

Lack of Content

Huge drop off from last year. Need to improve alot as plenty of other very good racing podcasts out there. Nick Seddon talks alot but doesn't say anything. Just states what we have all seen and what we all know. The link up to Bet Victor is damaging as they're prices are truly awful, getting a bookies price is utterly pointless and time wasting, we all access oddschecker! And who cares about the race assessment of the VC rep he is clearly clueless. He is barely out of school and probably Victor's nephew or something so his job should be read the prices and that's it.

The best NH podcast

What’s happened? The new presenters are nowhere near as good as last season.
