How to Be a Girl is an audio podcast I produce about life with my six-year-old transgender daughter. It stars the two of us -- a single mom and a six-year-old "girl with a penis" -- as we attempt together to sort out just what it means to be a girl.

The Medical Stuff
For years, people have asked me what I would do when my daughter hit puberty. Was I going to let her do... the "medical stuff?" Well, right after the pandemic struck, so did puberty. And this is what my daughter (and her mother) decided to do.

Episode XXXI: M is for Middle School, Take Two
This episode is different from any of our previous episodes. It’s also a do-over, because the first version of this episode overlooked the fact that my daughter is growing up, fast. She’s almost a teenager, and we both agree that it’s time she took charge. So that’s what she did. (Here’s a little more about how this episode came to be.)

SMASHING IT💯
Really help me understand how the daily struggles of a transgender person can go through many times. love seeing a mother daughter bond, I have a transgender freind and I respect them to my fullest, They are a lot And if like to learn as much as I can!! I think it’s fascinating how children can realise their potential and how they need to be themself to feel good and not get setback pushed back and left out feeling good your daughters going strong, so happy no kids are teasing her, as they are doing what’s right respecting how ones life works and how they feel, really really recommend this podcast absolutely loving it at the minute right now!! During life some people are going to be total buzzkills and try put you and your daughter down, By trying to tease you, bad mouth you, and disrespect you and your child’s boundaries and respect they are not of your worth. Stay strong absolutely smashing this podcast💯👌
Grateful for finding this
After a long search, finally a podcast I can relate to as a mother of a child going through similar struggles. Great to know we are not alone
