How To Handle Objections When It Comes To Selling Online | #005 | The 10K/Month Podcast The Business Of Health Coaching Podcast

“I can’t afford it right now”, “I’ll think about it”, “I’ll have to speak to my partner”.  

These are all the classic objections you get when it comes to selling over the phone/Zoom.  

I have been selling one way or another since 2000.  

I loved talking to people and helping them, over the years I climbed the ranks in the retail space BUT it became less about selling and more about polices and procedures.  

It was only when I became a business owner & coach in 2016 that I had to sharpen my skills again but not after long I was back in the game.  

What most people don’t realise is that sales is a skill.  

And just like the gym you have to get the reps in, in order to improve that close rate.  

Here are my top tips when it comes to handling objections when selling on:  

✅ Be prepared: I have listed a few classic objections above but they are more. Since most of them are common, you can learn them and understand how to respond. 

✅ Ask great question: this is a science and an art. Science, if you ask a great question, there is a 50% chance you will know the answer in advance. Art, knowing how to navigate and adjust on the fly when needed, the other 50% 

✅ Never get personal or confrontational: Your initial instinct might be to be defensive, don’t be, the minute you do, you lose control of the conversation. Accept what the prospect is saying then respond with a killer question 

✅ No: It’s not a dirty word, it’s part of the process. Get used to rejection, it’s ok! This gives you feedback on where you need to improve. 

✅ Talk less: I have done it, and I am sure you have too! Talked too much/talked yourself out of the sale. The prospect needs to do most of the talking, NOT you!  

✅ Take notes: This allows you to repeat what the prospect has said back to them in their own words, very important and it shows that you understand them
