When was the last time someone told you to slow your roll? It’s probably been a long time, if ever.
We don’t have time to wait for results anymore. We want it all, and we want it now. “Delayed gratification” is a term for losers who glorify their lack of success as a positive character trait and then use it to virtue signal against the successful.
Hustle harder. Keep grinding. Double down. Outwork the competition. These motivational phrases are parroted ad nauseam in the echo chamber of self improvement circles.
There’s certainly a time and place for admonishing ourselves and others to work with greater force and intention. As men, it’s imperative that we display a strong work ethic. We also ought to be willing to temporarily commit to doing whatever it takes to succeed when the circumstances demand it.
But this is often taken too far, and most men would be far more effective in their day-to-day dealings by slowing down the breakneck pace they operate at.
In today's podcast I break down how living a slower life can also lead to living a much more impactful life. Check it out and give it a share if you gain value from the message.
