In Defense of Plants Podcast

Amazing. So many kingdoms in one podcast!

Really interesting guests, interviews and engaging content. I thought that being US based it wouldn’t be as relevant for someone studying Horticulture in the UK but I was wrong! Love listening and highly recommend to everyone.

I feel bad giving this review because they’re good people with great intention but after listening to maybe 10 episodes, I feel it becomes a bit samey. I’m personally listening to hear really cool facts and info about plants which would otherwise be hard to find. You do get in bits of info but mostly it’s person or foundation centred. This is generally the gist: Scientist talks about the foundation they work for Host says how cool it is that they have that life Scientist continues to talk about foundation and how the general public can help To me, this is important but really I’m there to learn about plants rather than organisations and how cool it is to work with plants. I work with plants already so I’d really like to get to know more about studies and incredible facts. That’s my take but maybe people generally like the person centred approach.

I am an Apprentice horticulturist and me and my colleagues are listening to this podcast while working. It has been matter of very intriguing discussions during our tea breaks here in the UK. It made us more aware of what’s out there and it has been a massive stimulus to us into further research. We are now trying to get a bursary to work with Ashley Trask because of In defence of plants (and because of Stephen Blackmore which we hope to listen to in one of your further episodes)Description.
