Y ddramodydd Nia Morais yw'r cwmni ar y penod yma o 'Cyfnod Clo Gyda/In Lockdown With...' Ar ol astudio ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, dechrauodd Nia ei yrfa fel sgwenwr. Cymerodd Nia rhan yng nghynllyn Sgwenwyr Ifanc Fran Wen, cyn dod yn awdur preswyl Theatr y Sherman yng Nghaerdydd. Yn 2020 cafodd drama Nia 'Crafangau/Claws' eu cynhyrchu fel drama sain ar gyfer y Sherman. Eleni, fydd eu ddrama 'Imrie' yn teithio Cymru. Yma mae Ciaran yn siarad i Nia am eu yrfa hyd heddiw. 

Playwright Nia Morais is the guest on this week's episode of 'In Lockdown With...' After studying at Cardiff University, Nia started her career as a writer. Nia was part of Sgwenwyr Ifanc Fran Wen, before becoming Writer in Residence at the Sherman Theatre in  Cardiff. In 2020, Nia's play 'Crafangau/Claws' was produced as an audio drama for the Sherman. This year, her play 'Imrie' will tour Wales. Here Ciaran talks to Nia about her career so far.

Mae'r amlddawnus Huw Chiswell yn ymuno gyda Ciaran am yr ail benod Cymraeg o 'Dan Glo Gyda.' Ar ol astudio ym Mhrifysgolion Abertawe ac Aberystwyth, wnaeth Huw fynd mlaen i enill 'Can i Gymru' yn 1984 gyda'i gan 'Y Cwm.' Ers hynny mae Huw wedi ryddhau caneuon cofiadwy yn cynnwys 'Nos Sul a Baglan Bay,' a 'Rhywbeth o'i Le.' Sgwennodd y gan 'Dwylo Dros y Mor' yn 1985, ymateb cerddorion Gymreig i'r argyfwng yn Ethiopia. Canwyd rhai o cerddorion enwocaf Cymru ar y record, yn cynnwys Dafydd Iwan, Martyn Geraint a Caryl Parry Jones. Erbyn hyn, mae Huw hefyd yn gwaithio yn maes teledu fel cynhyrchydd a chyfarwyddwr. Llynedd, cyfarwyddwyd cyfres 'Dal y Mellt,' ar S4C. Llynedd llwyfanwyd 'Shwd Ma'i yr Hen Ffrind,' sioe gerdd wedi'i seiliedu ar bywyd Huw gan disgyblion Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera! 

The multitalented Huw Chiswell joins Ciaran on the second Welsh-language episode of 'In Lockdown With...' After studying at Swansea and Aberystwyth Universities, Huw went on to win 'Can i Gymru' in 1984 with his song 'Y Cwm.' Since then Huw has released memorable song including 'Nos Sul a Baglan Bay,' and 'Rhywbeth o'i Le.' He wrote the song 'Dwylo Dros y Mor' in 1985 as a response from the Welsh-language music scene to the Ethiopian famine. Some of Wales' most famous singer sang on the record, including Dafydd Iwan, Martyn Geraint and Caryl Parry Jones. Huw has also worked in television, as a producer and director. Last year he directed 'Dal y Mellt,' a series for S4C. Also last year a musical based on his life was staged by Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera.  

Mewn cyfres byr newydd ar gyfer 2023, mae Ciaran Fitzgerald yn cyflwyno cyfres o phodlediadau Gymraeg, yn cyfweld a phobol fwyaf adnabyddus Cymru. Wythnos yma, y nofelydd Llwyd Owen yw'r gwestai. Ar ol astudio ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, wnaeth Llwyd addasu sgript ffilm i fewn i'w nofel cynta 'Ffawd.' Hyd heddiw, mae Llwyd wedi sgwennu 13 nofel, sgwennodd eu nofel diweddara 'O Glust i Glust' yn ystod y pandemic. Mae Llwyd hefyd yn podledydd, wedi hostio'r podlediad 'Does Dim Gair Cymraeg am Random,' ac ar hyn o bryd yn hostio 'Ysbeidiau Heulog,' gyda Leigh Jones. Gwrandewch i glywed mwy am gyrfa Llwyd! 

In a short new series for 2023, Ciaran Fitzgerald presents a series of Welsh-Language podcasts, interviewing some of Wales' best loved faces. This week, the novelist Llwyd Owen is the guest. After studying at Bangor University, Llwyd adapted a film script into his first novel 'Ffawd.' Llwyd has written 13 novels, his latest novel 'O Glust i Glust' was written during the pandemic. Llwyd is also a podcaster, having hosted 'Does Dim Gair Cymraeg am Random,' and currently hosts 'Ysbeidiau Heulog' with Leigh Jones. Listen now. to hear more about Llwyd's career    

Opera director Adele Thomas joins Ciaran on this week's episode of 'In Lockdown With...' Adele studied at Cambridge University before embarking on a career in directing. She was a participant on the National Theatre's Young Directors Scheme, before moving into directing opera. Adele has directed Handel's Bernice and Il Trovatore by Verdi for the Royal Opera House and Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte for Northern Ireland Opera. Adele is also a founder member of Freelancers Make Theatre Work, a pressure group formed during the pandemic. Here Adele talks about her career. Recorded at the Wales Millennium Centre  

Ciaran is joined on this episode of the 'In Lockdown With...' podcast by actor Francois Pandolfo. Fran studied at East 15 Acting School, and went on to found Difficult Stage Theatre with Katy Owen and Ben Tyreman, creating work including 'Alix in Wundergarten' and 'Looking Through Glass.' He has also worked in TV, in 'The Tuckers' for BBC Wales, and 'Big Boys' for Channel 4. Fran recently appeared in 'Right Where We Left Us,' produced by Chippy Lane Productions at Chapter. In this episode, Fran and Ciaran talk openly about the importance of talking about mental health, not only in the theatre industry, but in general. 

Ciaran is joined on this week's episode of the 'In Lockdown With...' podcast by writer Bethany Handley. Bethany studied at Cardiff University, and has written poetry and theatre so far in her emerging career. She is a part of GALWAD's young company, creating work which will be a part of the festival later in September. Bethany has also been a part of the Sherman Theatre's Unheard Voices Programme, run by Alice Eklund and Branwen Davies.  Bethany is running a nature writing retreat with Megan Angharad Hunter in October 2022. Here Bethany talks to Ciaran about her career so far and her experience of being a disabled and chronically ill artist, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic.
