#432 – Marijus Aleksa, Judgitzu, Frankie, Idris Ackamoor & The Pyramids, Prince Fatty, Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter - 30 October 2023

Full of abstract and lofi electronics, this week’s podcast lulls you into a false sense of security this week before blitzing you with the 175+bpm of Judgitzu. We’re only just recovered with the beautiful noise of Frankie and Joachim Nordwall before a triumphant return of jazz’s favourite living Pharaoh Idris Ackamoor.

Elsewhere, we have dubs from Prince Fatty, Kirstin Hayter’s new Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter moniker, the Tokyo-Caribbean-German Grace Jones, and a whole lot more.

#431 – The Haxan Cloak, Hilary Woods, Aya & BFTT, Hibushibire, Lucidvox, Maya Al Khaldi - 23 October 2023

A podcast of exceptional music and bad puns this week, as we travel through the genres, including spooooky drum and bass from Basic Rhythm, Palestinian folklore from Maya Al Khaldi, and thunderous psych rock from Osaka’s Hibushibire.

We also have three pretty special collaborations, including Sarah Davachi and Quatuor Bozzini, Abu Ama and BedouinDrone, and YCO founders AYA and BFTT. Throw in some Russian rock, club bangers, and a long awaited return of The Haxan Cloak, and you’ve got yourself a very tasty selection.

An amazing source of musical discovery. I love!!!!!!

Danai M ,

A bottomless pit of music inspiration

From London to Indonesia and Niger, the indie/Afro/techno/thrash metal gems are endless.

Bob Cocker ,

Wonderfully eclectic

This great show plays always fascinating, and usually excellent, musical nuggets from the more obscure reaches of the sonic sphere. Effective format, charming banter and a refreshingly global focus. Have had my ears opened to lots of great stuff through this pod.
