is there space for fat vegans? with luisa-christie Susty in the City

    • Society & Culture

welcome back to susty in the city! today we’re joined by luisa-christie to discuss whether the vegan movement is a welcoming space for plus-sized people.

hope you enjoy the discussion! we discuss whether the vegan and eco movements exclude fat people, ponder on why there’s a disproportional lack of larger vegan influencers and also have side-chats on vegan cheese, what happens when you get served meat and the positive side of influencing.

to start, let’s just clarify that when we say ‘fat’ we mean someone mid sized / plus sized and we do not consider it a nasty word. we appreciate people may use it with that intent and that is mean, nasty and not okay. but calling someone ‘fat’ has nothing to do with whether they’re sexy, healthy, active, smart, beautiful, etc.

hope you enjoy the episode - really keen to keep the chat open and frank in the comments but anything unacceptably rude will be challenged and/or removed.

this one felt quite special! can’t wait to hear your thoughts! x
