The world we’ll be faced with tomorrow demands big ideas today. In Jacobs’ series of interviews with some of today’s leading industry and academic problem solvers, we discuss the Ifs and Whens of disruption - those phenomena with the potential to unsettle the status quo, as well as those now imminent and emerging.

A Better Way: Delivery of Major Public Infrastructure Programs
In many parts of the world, the infrastructure and construction industries remain heavily influenced by 20th century standards and solutions, and the need to move beyond these has become even more pressing in light of COVID-19. A better way to procure, plan and deliver infrastructure is required, one that prioritizes digital innovation, off-site manufacturing technologies and a focus on whole life asset performance. In this episode of If/When we look at these issues on a global scale with Bryan Harvey, Jacobs Global Vice President of Major Programs and Donald Morrison, Jacobs Senior Vice President for Europe and Global Executive Sponsor of Digital Strategies.
Cloud Condos: Co-location for Hyperscale
In this episode of If/When, we talked with several of Jacobs’ Data Center subject matter experts about their new design concept for Cloud Condos, which brings together the best of both Hyperscale and Colocation data center design. This plug-and-play concept offers both flexibility and scalability while maximizing speed to market for data center clients. Our featured guests include Kenneth J. Kutsmeda – Global Technology Leader for Jacobs Mission Critical; Paul D'Onofrio - Discipline Lead – Architecture, Jacobs; and David Seger - Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mission Critical Technologist, Jacobs
Overcoming Adversity: Going the Distance
In 2019 Jacobs sponsored a team of four Royal Navy submariners as the crew of the HMS Oardacious, taking part in The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge to row 3,000 miles unassisted across the Atlantic Ocean. Considered to be one of the toughest races in the world, Rowers rowed for two hours then slept for two hours, constantly for 24 hours a day, for roughly 40 days. In this episode of If/When, we spoke with Lieutenant Hugo Mitchell-Heggs of the UK Royal Navy and the Expedition Leader of HMS Oardacious, and Tom Parsons, Jacobs BeyondZero Culture Manager Europe, to discuss lessons learned when faced with adversity.
