    JFS40: Cats of Park Avenue

    JFS40: Cats of Park Avenue

    Your boys are back! Parker and Sean discuss video game pinball and other new obsessions. One of those obsessions is last weekend's Wrestlemania, so if you're not into reviews of big sweaty men with muscles, then feel free to skip ahead to the one hour mark or so. Once you get there, the boys review a Japanese movie that Sean picked all by himself with no help. It's called "Cats of Park Avenue" and it's about cats that skateboard. It's also about a group of girls who are making a musical about those cats. And very little else. All this plus so much more! Direct Donloyd Here .

    JFD673: The Boy Friend, The Muppet Movie, Extreme Prejudice

    JFD673: The Boy Friend, The Muppet Movie, Extreme Prejudice

    This week: Kevin Moss and Parker Bowman regale us with tales of the legendary Ohio-based JFD meetup that just recently transpired! And we review three movies! Did we even mention it's our 14th Anniversary? Don't worry if you forgot to get us a gift - your listenership is gift enough. Up first! We're confronted yet again with another one of Sean's fancy musical fantasias, with 1971's The Boy Friend, starring Twiggy. But could the fact that it's directed by Ken Russell save it from the realms of boredom? Next up! We return to the world of technical muppetry with the grandaddy of all Muppet features, 1979's The Muppet Movie. But will we reveal on air whom our favorite muppets are? Finally! Of course, it's 1987's Extreme Prejudice, because y'all asked for it. All this plus our loving tribute to the great state of Ohio, greek kids swimming through rivers of chili, the surprising non-Italian origin of pizzas in Boston, gettin' spicy in the suites (w/ gummy bears), the surprisingly slimy texture of expansive novelty lobsters and dinosaurs and yetis, Starburst: Full Log Edition, taking girls to scary concerts: karaoke edition, vintage ice cream bars, Snack Shack versus Spookies, the candy version of smelling salts, Natasha Henstridge's got y'all getting Species and even more! Recorded live-to-tape on National Don't Walk Your Dog Day, 2024!! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, or better yet an opinion on next week's movies? JFS39: Shock Treatment

    JFS39: Shock Treatment

      Parker's about to hit the road so he can finally "get" Species in Cinci (and maybe some chilidogs too), but before he goes he wanted to share more of his thoughts on Richard O'Brien's 1981 follow-up to Rocky Horror, Shock Treatment (famously reviewed on a very early JFD)! Critics agree it was a wonderful way to send Parker a bon voyage. But first! We chat all about all the movies coming to cinemas next month. To join our Music League, or just hang out with your pals, swing by our Junk Food Dinner DISCORD server to sign up. So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus everyone's got a tribute band, something to add to your list of Cinematic Voldemorts, the new release movies we've been seeing, RIP to the Dragon Ball king, Parker has the wildest takes on the casts of Rocky Horror and Shock Treatment, Sean draws a blank on recent Susan Sarandon credits, a distinct lack of Tim Curry, belches, sneezes, gleeks and so much more!! JFS38: Strike Me Pink (1936)

      Sean's on his grandpa shit again, as we review Strike Me Pink (from 1936). But will the addition of theme park antics in this comedy-musical from vaudeville old-timer Eddie Cantor sweeten the deal for Parker Bowman? Tune in to find out. But first! We chat all about our recent experiences listening to and ranking musical picks with our listeners over in the Music League app. Swing by our Junk Food Dinner DISCORD server to sign up. So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus the debut of our new segment Area Codes Chat, the return of our old segment Oscars Chat (containing a sneaky segment of Sumo Chats), why they let a cartoon lizard win an Oscar, gams galore, belches, sneezes, gleeks and so much more!! JFS37: Cabaret

    JFS37: Cabaret

    Things are scandalous, kinky and Nazis are threatening everyone. In addition, your Junk Food Supper boys will be discussing Cabaret! Sean and Parker discuss the 1972 movie directed by Bob Fosse and starring Liza Minnelli, Joel Gray and Michael York. Liza plays a swinging socialite who performs in a cool cabaret in Berlin shortly before the Nazis rise to power. Before that, though, the boys discuss what they've been up to, what they've been watching and much more. This week's segment is a preview of what's coming to theaters in March. There's also junk mails from some of the hall of famers and Spookies Chat! Direct Donloyd Here. Go sign up for the patreon, too!

Next, Chevy Chase and John Carpenter team up for a story about paranoia, loneliness and silly comedy in "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" from 1992. Dinner time..

Decent selection of reviews of mostly older genre movies,along with abit of news.An easy listen with three hosts and good content although one of the guys seems to contrarian for the sake of it at times which can be annoying.

Give it a miss

Honestly this is one of the worst I’ve ever “tried” to listen to. With so much content out there I’d give this one a wide steer 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️😣😣😣

@holt8chris ,

Can't believe I'm the first to review this!!

I love listening to this podcast, especially as a child of the eighties and nineties as they often revisit some of the films that shaped my taste. More cult film fans should listen to this podcast as it's one of the best on iTunes. One request; the team should review the godawful Tekken movie, one of the worst films for years!!
