Keep Streets Live Podcast Episode 2 Weybourne Chester Bingley Keep Streets Live Podcast

    • Music

Welcome to episode two of the Keep Streets Live podcast where I've interviewed Busker and Director of Keep Streets Live Weybourne Chester Bingley. In this episode we chat about a meeting Chester has just had with Keep Streets Live, Westminster Council and the Westminster Street Performer's Association about a new idea to help deal with complaints from businesses about buskers. The idea is if a business makes a complaint they can do so by filling out an email form on the WSPA website. A representative from the WSPA will go down and assess the situation. If needed they will politely check in with the busker to try and solve the problem. They will then make a log of the complaint and what the outcome was. If they can show to the Council that they are working together as a community and working to keep everyone happy then hopefully they can avoid a licensing scheme being implemented. I then ask Chester about a letter to Poole Council he recently sent asking them about their licensing scheme for busking. To finish Chester explains a little about what Keep Streets Live is and what they do. Chester's music on Bandcamp This episode is also  on i-tunes and Youtube. I hope you enjoyed this episode, I have a few more interviews lined up with other buskers and people working with buskers. Thanks for listening! Clare Dowling
