Jennifer and James Crumbley Sentenced: Will More Parents Pay for Their Child’s Crimes?

Ethan Crumbley was just 15 years old when he was arrested for killing four students and injuring several others in a shooting at Oxford High School in 2021. When investigators learned that his parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, failed to prevent the deadly actions of their son, they were charged and eventually convicted of involuntary manslaughter – becoming the first parents in U.S. history to be held criminally responsible for their child’s mass school shooting plot. A landmark ruling last week sentenced them both to 10 years in prison. In today’s Headlines, Candice is joined by legal analyst Josh Ritter to discuss how Jennifer and James’ negligence led to their sentences, and the impact this case could have on parents in the future.

Brilliantly presented by an actual FBI analyst and former Psychiatric Nurse

As a True Crime mega-fan, I love Killer Psyche with Candice DeLong. Candice is a former Psychiatric Nurse, FBI Agent and Criminal Profiler so she’s everything you want in True Crime Podcast host ! Her in-depth coverage and profiling of the case and events leading up to it are both extremely interesting and informative, and her profiling of the killer(s) is truly fascinating. Her background obviously gives her an edge on other crime podcast hosts, as she is able to give you her unfiltered thoughts and perspective on the crimes committed and the criminals who committed them. You end up with a brilliantly detailed story of the crime and a profiler’s/psychiatric professional’s opinion on the inner workings of the criminal’s psyche and what led them to commit the murders that they did. I would highly recommend this podcast to ALL lovers of True Crime and the analysis of the killer’s mind. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Dreadful delivery: unlistenable

This is just unlistenable, which is such a shame as I don’t doubt the narrator’s expertise. Sadly, it’s proof — if proof were needed — that not everyone can or should write or present.

The narration is mindblowingly slow and ponderous, as if the narrator is reading to a particularly dim three year old. The content is similarly intolerable — there’s little here once you get past the repeated introductions, unnecessary background waffle and endless pauses. Like many podcasts it seems whoever is producing this will do just about anything to pad it out.

Brilliant

I love this podcast and Candice in general.
I have seen her in many crime shows and find her very informative without being boring.
I usually listen to a more spicier podcast (with cursing etc) but love this for the straight to the point storytelling.
If you prefer a clean non banter style informative podcast, this is for you 👏🏻
