Quiet, quiet, quiet, LOUD!
A nice fun cheesy romp in the woods. Enjoying it so far, but the quiet vocals and massively loud sound effects mean turning the volume up for the talky talks is necessary and immediate tinnitus is often the result of a loud sound effect appearing out of nowhere...
Cheesy and Spooky! Can’t wait for more!!
At first it seemed like they were leaning way too heavily into the standard ‘kids go to a cabin in the woods’ trope, but it gets much deeper! Started out very cheesy and some of the lines do kind of fail (perhaps the acting, maybe the writing?) but it’s a nice light listen. Binged both seasons in the space of a week & I’m intrigues! Bit of a slow starter but I think it helps us get to know the characters so when horror strikes, we feel it! Second season was super good and I started feeling legit spooked! Cannot wait for the continuation of this story, and I’m gonna head over to check out the other projects the creators have worked on. :) if you like spooky audio drama podcasts, this one is worth a listen!
Season 1 review
The actors in the show all have nice clear voices which is good, it's also great to hear a lot of young voices working in audio drama. The intro/ourto music is quite cool and different compared to other horror shows but i feel the actual underscore is lacking a bit in some stories, soome stories there is a good strong amount, where as others there is almos none which i think takes away some of the atmosphere and mystery of the show. Lake Clairty utilises narraion in certain scenes to allow the listner to visulaise more of what is going on in the scene while some shows it can be intruding Lake Clairty has found a way of doing it in such a way to keep you hooked into the story.
