The most entertaining and enraging stories from mythology told casually, contemporarily, and (let's be honest) sarcastically. Greek and Roman gods did some pretty weird (and awful) things. Liv focuses on Greek and Roman mythology's (mis)treatment of women, the wild things the gods did, and the all around incredible minds of the ancient world. Gods, goddesses, heroes, monsters, and everything in between. Regular episodes every Tuesday, conversations with authors and scholars or readings of ancient epics every Friday.

Conversations: Revisiting the Cultural Memory of the Bronze Age

Revisiting three past conversations featuring mythology based in the cultural memory of the Bronze Age... The Minotaur and Autism featuring Cora Beth Fraser, Helen of Sparta and the Kalon Kakon with Alexia Burrows Charalambidou, and Homer with Joel Christensen. Find the full Bronze Age playlist here.

CW/TW: far too many Greek myths involve assault. Given it's fiction, and typically involves gods and/or monsters, I'm not as deferential as I would be were I referencing the real thing.

Late in London ,

Came for the myths and stayed for the rants!

I came to this show while researching the Aeneid for work but it is the very real and emotional tying in of myths and history to current events that has kept me listening. I feel really grateful for Liv’s bravery in talking about the horrors of this moment in time. I can hear that she is being so careful to articulate the unspeakable realities / nightmares of the past 6 months especially and I totally love her for it. Please keep talking about the horrific nature of imperialism today, selfishly it is helpful to hear someone else fraying at the edges in disbelief and sadness but then also distracting me with stories from thousands of years ago!

Thank you Liv

Thank you for being here and bringing mythology to everybody.I have been listening to you for about a year and I never get bored of it. This podcast helped me through a tough time where home didn’t feel like it and I had some depression problems. Although it was hard, you were the friend who I could rely on. You bring the world of Greek mythology to our ears in such a hilarious way. Thank you so much Liv

Liv A Little

As a fellow Greco-Roman mythology lover, I like to hear somebody speaking so passionately. My favourite episodes are those focusing on specific characters and mini-myths. The ads are annoying and go on too long.
