First time mums Holly & Sophie , taking each day at a time, with a lot of coffee, no patience and plenty of sleepless nights. The hot guy in our bed was exchanged for a screaming baby and our 3am gin & tonic was replaced with warm baby milk. Our high powered jobs turned into a high powered life changing mission of keeping a baby alive, and a new outfit every weekend turned into the same pyjamas day in day out (washed or not washed...) Our goal is to shed light on the reality of motherhood without the Instagram filter.
How to keep your cool during toddler tantrums with behavioural therapist Gilly
Today we met with child behavioural therapist, Gilly, from Nanny to the Rescue, where we discussed all things toddler, tantrums and general behavioural issues and how to discipline when it comes to our kids! She talked us through how to cope with a toddler's tricky behaviour from bedtime problems, to meal times, to bad habits such as using phones, how to distract and introducing the 'thinking step!' as well as giving us some helpful tips moving forward, which we hope will help you too!
Chat with Annabel Karmel about everything nutrition
Today's podcast is with Annabel Karmel, the best selling baby food author with over 44 books to her name! Today Annabel chatted to us all about the correct nutrition when it comes to feeding our toddlers. We all get in a pickle when it comes to meal times and are sometimes stuck on ideas, so Annabel gives us some tips, advice and answers the question we're all thinking, are fish fingers and chips bad to give our toddlers?
Chat with sleep consultant Rosey
As a mum, we hear the words 'sleep,' 'nap' and 'G-D please make my child go to bed' more often that we have ever had a hot meal. And with the pair of us having our own personal struggles with our little ones and their 'sleep regressions' or 'separation anxiety,' we thought it was time to call out the professionals! And the wonderful Rosey from Just Chill Baby Sleep, came into our lives with the most simple, yet effective advice and within 24 hours, our sleep issues were resolved! So we hope this week's podcast will answer all your sleep problems and you can thank us later :D
The Pressures Of Being A Mum
We live in a world where we are constantly judged as women. Through social media, editing apps, reality tv shows and everything in between, we can't escape the pressures of always having to look our best. However, what's not as widely discussed, is the pressure of being 'the perfect mum.' From the second you announce your pregnancy, and for the rest of your mothering life, the conflicting advice, the ifs and buts, the pity stare and the family member or friend who always 'knows best', the pressures of motherhood is a topic of conversation that is commonly discussed between all mums, yet at the same time, isn't discussed enough! So this weeks podcast is a little therapy session for ourselves and a chance for us to vent our little hearts out, and also for you guys to never feel as though your decision is 'wrong' when it comes to how you wish to bring up your children. AMEN.
Separation anxiety is a killer!! We have all heard about it, most have experienced it, but it definitely SMACKS you in the face when it comes around. Feeling sleep deprived, and unsure of how to deal with the situation, sometimes a hug and a word of advice is all you need! And that is exactly why we decided to do this weeks podcast on this particular topic, as Sophie is currently going through this with Zack and is about to ram her head against a brick wall (or run away to a desert island and sip on a Pina Colada alone.....) We hope that this can reassure other mums out there that they are not alone when going through difficult times with their babies and that it opens up a platform for mums to discuss and relate.
Travelling with babies
Going on holiday with young children can be a nerve wracking experience, whether a first time mum, or experienced. We both recently got back from our first holiday together with the babies, and stayed in a villa. It was definitely the best decision we had made, as we had all the amenities needed for the babies and were able to sunbathe whilst they were napping. In this podcast, we talk about the pros and cons of staying in a villa vs a hotel and our experiences, must have items and what we would do differently next time!
Please bring this back. Sooo much more to talk about now girls ❤️
