Kendra Olson, Elections and Liscense manager for Carver County explains how voting works in MN.

Kendra Olson is THE Carver County elections expert. She explains how voting, vote counting and the sanctity of the voting process is handled and secured in Carver County and in Minnesota in general. Given the conflicting information bouncing around on the news and within social media, it seemed like a good idea to get straight talk and accurate information from someone who knows the real inside scope. We discuss absentee voting, early voting and of course, in person voting. For more information, check out www.mnvotes.org

Misty Florek, owner of Morgan Taylor Design talks home staging and making good choices with decor.

This episode is a lot closer to my day job than others and Missy Florek is a terrific home stager and frankly a little bit of a cross between a home style maven and a crazy bargain shopper. I'm always amazed at what she can do on sometimes minimal budgets. This is a nice visit about how people can plan ahead and make good choices about their living decor.

Also, if you've seen those cool quilts designs on random barns around the area, you've been impacted by their influence. John talks about his life experiences and his goals and vision for the county. Please enjoy this wide ranging discussion with my friend John Fahey.

Our real Season 2 opener is with Martha Brannon of HIS HOUSE ministry and Abundance Food program

Even here in Carver County there are people losing their housing who need a place to stay and who need food and basic necessities. His House Ministry has locations in Excelsior and in downtown Chaska. Martha Brannon is the director and people may recognize her big smile as she's running around in a white Ford van picking up food and delivering to those is need. She works in conjunction with Carver County Health and Human Services director Dr Richard Scott (a previous guest on this podcast) to fill an increasing community need. Martha's good nature is infectious and she's always looking for more people to get involved.

Welcome to season 2 and my exanation of why the show has been on hiatus and what I've been doing...

I wanted to reflect on season 1 and the remarkable guests who were kind enough to spend a little time sharing their little or sometimes bigger corner in Carver County. I also wanted to share what I've been doing to improve myself during Covid-19 on what I called "my remodel project". Thank you for checking this podcast out and I hope you enjoy my new batch of guests. They are; "The people who make Carver County the BEST PLACE to live, work and raise a family"
