On today's Western Conference Tuesday edition of Locked on NHL, Seth Toupal of Locked on Wild and Nick Morgan of Locked on Predators continue their team by team big question series starting with the Seattle Kraken. They discuss whether or not the Kraken can take the next step after a season that saw them beat the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the playoffs. Where do they need to improve to become a force in the Western Conference. Seth and Nick also discuss Shane Wright and his development as well as the goalie situation after Philipp Grubauer found his form in the postseason after a very up and down regular season.
In segment two, Seth and Nick discuss the current state of the Winnipeg Jets. They discuss whether or not the new look Jets have enough on roster to get to the postseason. They also wonder if Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele will make it through the entire season if the Jets fall out of contention. With both players in the final years of their contracts, will the Jets risk letting them leave for no return if they are a bubble team in the playoffs?
In segment three, Seth and Nick discuss the Calgary Flames. They look at the decision to move on from Darryl Sutter and if that alone will propel the Flames back into the postseason. They also discuss a rough year for Jonathan Huberdeau and how he can rebound to restore faith in his ability to produce at a high level throughout the rest of his contract. Seth and Nick also discuss Jacob Markstrom and whether or not he can bounce back or if the Flames will need to make a decision on the long term solution between the pipes.
