“No, painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war.” ― Pablo Picasso
What was Picasso depicting and trying to express in his painting “Massacre en Coree?” It was unveiled in 1951, was brushed off by contemporaries at the time and overshadowed by his masterpiece “Guernica”.
But looking at it today, somehow it turns the narratives painted (pun intended) by the parties involved in the Korean war into a very different, twisted image.
