It's our first guest! Matthew Knight set up Leapers, the online project and community supporting the mental health of the self-employed, a few years ago. But the platform's popularity has rocketed during Covid-19, as thousands of freelancers found they needed extra support and help as the pressures of the pandemic and work uncertainty built up.
In this episode, writer Becky Howard and psychotherapist Lucy Clyde talk to Matthew about how the Leapers community helped each other through the first lockdown, how he managed to cope himself with the extra responsibility, and how he's preparing for the upcoming Covinter...
We chat through everything from the importance of a good vent with colleagues, why it's difficult not to take an unsubscribe personally, why therapy is just like dating, and amid all the doom and gloom, reminding ourselves of the positives of working for yourself.
