A fascinating story of a forgotten legend

I really enjoyed this fascinating series. While it’s about the extraordinarily creative Mabel Constanduros, it also manages to fit her achievements into society at the time and relate them to the present day. Incredible that someone so influential has escaped the popular gaze!

A Fascinating Life Story

Jack is my nephew so Mabel was also my aunt! I can remember as a small child visiting Bena, and my mother talking about what fun it was when Mabel visited her as a child. She was an extraordinary woman but as a family we didn’t realise what a pioneer she was. She was just Aunt Mabel who created that famous Buggins family on the wireless. Thank you Jack for taking this look back into history and showing us not only how hugely talented Mabel was, but what an enormously important role she played in this country’s broadcasting history.
