The Golden Calf
God's people grow impatient as Moses is with God on the mountain. As they grasp for control, they build a golden calf, the image of a god they worshipped back in Egypt. They return to what was familiar but left them with nothing. How do we follow the same path? How does Jesus free us and rescue us from this pointless pursuit of idols?
Easter 2021 – God So Loved
Easter is for everyone. God showed love for a the world by sharing the great gift of Jesus with all of us. Have you received Him yet?
Invest in God
God has made a way to dwell with His people. In the book of Exodus, it was the physical tabernacle. In the New Testament, Jesus became the tabernacle, the presence of God on earth. And now the church is the tabernacle, God’s dwelling place in a broken world.
The Blood of the Covenant
Why is the concept of "covenant" so important throughout the Bible? When a covenant was made in the Bible there was always a sacrifice. What does this mean for believers today?
The Book of the Covenant
God gives societal laws to Israel as His plan for human flourishing. The Book of the Covenant (the societal laws) can be broken into four categories: right worship, ordered society, enacted justice and upheld human dignity. These laws hold true in our day if society is to flourish. What does it look like for a people to pursue these in our culture?
God gave His people the Ten Commandments because He loves us and wants us to live. The giving of the Law was always meant to point us to the only source for true life: God Himself. When God came as a man, he fulfilled the law perfectly for us in our place, died for our sins and then rose to give us new life. This new life enables us to desire to walk in God’s ways and the power to grow in it through the Holy Spirit.
