Talking to Jason Mander about adoption and new research into how different personas celebrate life

Josephine and Dani are joined by Jason Mander. Jason is Chief Research Officer at GWI, overseeing its syndicated and custom research studies across more than 50 countries. Outside of work, he’s an adoptive parent and is committed to helping other families-to-be on their adoption journeys.
In this new OUTSights podcast, Jason will first cover the very interesting content of the paper he presented at the TMRE conference last year. A paper that explains about how different personas celebrate life.

In the second part of the podcast, we will immerse ourselves into the world of an LGBTQ+ adopting parent. A fascinating story that will enable you to know a little bit more of the adopting journey, it’s bright and beautiful sides and also sometimes the challenging ones. Don’t miss this amazing podcast!

How it works in the USA - a conversation with the Insight Association

How it works in the USA - a conversation with the Insight Association

To round out the year, Dani Cunill is joining Josphine to co-host the podcast. Be warned, his smooth voice might sweep you off your feet!
In this episode, we look across the pond at the US and talk about the Insights Association – a professional body similar to the MRS but is based in the US. The Insights Association strives to effectively represent, advance, and grow the research profession and industry.
In the podcast we discuss the Insights Association IDEA COUNCIL which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access. The Council works to deliver measurement, education and standards of excellence to address the lack of representation in the insight profession and the populations it researches.
Charlene and Damon share the work if the IDEA Council and their ambitions for the future. We reflect on the similarities and differences in approach for each organisation (MRS and IA) to achieve the same goals. The outcome is incredibly optimistic with consistent workstreams and an intention for the MRS EDI Council and the IA IDEAS Council to work more closely together in the future.
As always, we cover our #prideofthepods and #mrspride news.
    Our Hosts:
Josephine Hansom – VP and Youth Practice lead, Savanta
Daniel Cunill Romero - UK Director, Market Research services & Global Mobile lead, Bilendi & respondi
    Our Guests:
Charlene Darko, Director, Chapters & Councils, Insights Association
Damon Jones, Vice President, Community and Culture/Vice President, Telephone Operations, Burke, Inc.

Magenta Research and John Bizzell, co-founder of MRSpride

It's LGBTQ+ history month, and there's lots going on around the country to celebrate. And there's still time to vote in the British LGBT awards.
Josephine and Sabrina are joined by three guests from Magenta, to talk about the unbelievable work they have been doing for years in inclusion and diversity. Not only within research, but to push the boundaries within the workplace itself. Representation in gaming and news from MRS Pride

Representation in gaming and news from MRS Pride

Josephine and Sabrina take another dive into all things MRS Pride with Episode 7 of OUTsights.  They cover the usual #podgoss, new exhibitions and Disney movies.

They are joined by Martin Bradley and Emil Kimber from MTM who dive into their inspiring work on diversity within the gaming industry. Something of a hot topic for the industry, improving the representation of characters and narratives within gaming is set to be a dominant conversation for a while. Gaming as an industry falls behind many of the other entertainment genres in promoting inclusion and so Martin and Emil discuss why this is the case and what gaming brands can do to improve. Find the full report here: https://rsvp.withgoogle.com/events/dei-in-gaming-event

We also hear from our newest members of the MRS Pride group, Maine Charlton  and Ben Sumner about their route to research and Pride. They also discuss their plans to support SME's across the industry to help drive inclusion and diversity through a number of round table workshops. Find out more about these via MRS Pride.

We mention the MRS Inclusion Pledge which you can sign up to here if your organisation hasn't already: https://www.mrs.org.uk/resources/ceo-inclusion-pledge

And finally a call out where you can meet MRS Pride and members of the MRS EDI Council in a lunchtime session at the MRS Annual Conference - Insight Alchemy 2023, on 14 March: https://www.mrsannualconference.com/

Talking to Josephine Hansom about young LGBTQ+ consumers and BT's Clare Woodward about best practice for clients on conducting inclusive research

Talking to Josephine Hansom about young LGBTQ+ consumers and BT's Clare Woodward about best practice for clients on conducting inclusive research

Our next episode of the OUTsights podcast sees things turned on their head! Our regular co-host Josephine Hansom becomes one of our guests, and Sabrina Trinquetel is joined by another member of the MRSPride team, Daniel Cunill.
We share a bit of #podgoss from the panel focusing mainly on being really happy the Pride celebrations were back in force this year, with some of the biggest turn outs across the country.
Our first guest Josephine wanted to highlight the important views of young LGBTQ+ consumers in today's world with a new report, what young people value in a brand, how brands can better fulfil their needs and how they are happy to speak out about wrongful actions than their straight counterparts. A piece motivated by her work with MRSpride and the report produced by a previous guest of the podcast, Magda Markowska at NeilsenIQ.
Our second guest Clare Woodward joins us from BT, to talk about the amazing work she did earlier in the year to pull together Best Practice guides for clients on Inclusive research. She was nominated as a MRS DI&E Changemaker earlier in the year and the judges said “Clare is helping to drive systemic change by harnessing the influence that commissioning clients have. The power of this cannot be overestimated - if clients are changing the agenda, then the agenda changes! The guidelines that Clare has led on are hugely beneficial and far from an easy undertaking.” She puts out a call for more people to share and feedback on these guides so they can continue to grow and get better. Send your feedback to her directly or info@mrs.org.uk.
We cover our #prideofthepods and news from #MRSpride, including our next event on the 15th September.
    Our Hosts:
Daniel Cunill (he/him) - Director of Market Research UK & Global Head of Mobile at Bilendi-respondi
Sabrina Trinquetel (she/her) - UK Sales Lead at Measure Protocol, the fastest way to access behavioural data
    Our Guests:
Josephine Hansom - Head of Youth, Savanta
Clare Woodward - Enterprise Insight Manager, BT
