Excellent Chess Cast

Though some of the video effects are a bit corny and basic, you get used to them after a while and there is certainly a sense of humour involved. The main thing is that the content is excellent and I find the pace good for my standard - which is a weakish club player. I can follow these on the train and enjoy them. ThanksPE !

I would avoid this

I watched part of one episode about mating with king and room, and the method was counter-intuitive (try mating with two rooks, and then do the same thing, except your king takes the role of one of the rooks), and inefficient. On that basis, I'm not sure how this podcast can be helpful, however enthusiastic the presenter is.

There are better options on YouTube - I like ChessNetwork for beginners, ChessExplained for intermediate players.

Logical, Concise, well paced.

*This is, without a doubt, the best chesscast available on the web.
*The producer speaks very clearly and his pacing is fantastic so that the viewer has a chance to fully comprehend what has been said.
*The producer picks many interesting examples to illustrate and this is an excellent way to improve one's chess.
*The video editing is amusing and an excellent compliment to the chess material.
*There is the occasional suprise from usual format, for example : "the haunted chess tale", which amusingly illustrates the fundamental importance of not mentally resigning prematurely, i.e. don't give up - try to spot a saving move.
*I would request there to be many more of these fantastic chesscasts!
*Back to the delivery of the chesscast, the producer's voice also has a certain quality that, peculiarly for me, makes me feel positive and logical.
*PE's chess cast makes one love to learn about chess.
