Our hosts, Brooke and Chelsea are fun theatremakers residing in Queensland. Brooke is a theatre enthusiast from the Gold Coast, halfway through her Master of Secondary Teaching. When she's not in a theatre, she's probably in Disneyland, planning a trip to Disneyland, or talking about Disneyland. Chelsea is an emerging performer, director, and playwright. Her aim is to focus on topics that society face daily, even on world subjects that can sometimes be unnoticed including the social, political, and cultural issues in today's society.

    We're still exploring the business of showbiz and this week we learnt exactly what it takes to curate, collate and program a season of arts and entertainment! Stepping into the studio for some fun is the effervescent CEO and Creative Director of Metro Arts, Jo Thomas. We talked about her wonderful career as a producer, actor and businesswoman, as well as the upcoming January-June season at Metro Arts. Jo is paving the way for emerging artists to learn and gain experience in the industry, and we learnt so much when she visited. This was one of our bucket-list interviews!


    Scene 7 unravels the responsibilities of a producer and creative director and what it takes to run a successful theatre company. Jo talks about what goes into crafting a season, Metro Arts' new home in West End and their upcoming January-June 2021 season. We also chat about the Metro Arts Future Fund, opportunities and advice for emerging artists, and Jo's start in the industry (from acting to producing than being a CEO!).

    Scene 6 - Sam Klingner

    This interview has made our day, week, month and even year! Sam Klingner chats to us about the business side of show business as a national and international Producer; having managed productions from Brisbane to Las Vegas and beyond. We hear about his experiences with 'Friends! The Musical Parody', 'Tap Pack', 'The Naked Magicians' (ooh lah lah) and so much more! Plus Sam gives us his advice for budding producers, tells us his favourite magic trick and - watch out - Brooke pitches a bunch of her fab show ideas. Would you produce it or reduce it?


    Scene 6 unravels the business side to show business with Sam discussing life as a producer both nationally and internationally. We talk about the role of the producer, Sam's start in his career, his experiences in Australia and also in England and America. Sam also shares information about his upcoming productions - 'Friends! The Musical Parody!', musical theatre legend 'Caroline O'Connor', 'The Tap Pack', 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'The Naked Magicians'. We also learn his favourite magic trick, inspired by David Copperfield, and what goes into deciding whether a show is production-ready.
