    #119 - Dennis Hobson

We are still striving to deliver a weekly episode even though we are all isolating... therefore Jake & Spencer aren’t in our usual recording box together and this weeks show is recorded slightly differently. However, even a global pandemic can’t stop us from producing the goods! On this weeks show is one of the unsung heroes of British boxing, promoter Dennis Hobson. Dennis has some of the best stories & experiences in the sport from the past few decades and opened up to us on them all. He even gave us an insight in what it’s like being a boxing promoter, especially during these tough & unprecedented times!
We hope this weeks show can give you a bit of escapism from watching those Only Fools and Horses repeats & building the Taj Mahal in lego. Stay safe peeps! For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

    #118 - Chris Wild

With the current outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic the Pound for Pound team are keen to still publish a weekly show, especially if we all find ourselves self-isolating and have finished watching all the Boxing Gold's on Sky Sports Catch Up.
On this weeks show we have the brilliant Chris Wild. Chris has an amazing story that culminated in him writing the book, Damaged, which chronicled heartbreaking stories around Britain's child care system. Chris used boxing as an avenue to help turn his life around and continues to campaign and do everything he can to make the system a much safer place. This is an interview like no other we’ve had on the show.

We hope everyone stays safe in these uncertain times and hopefully a weekly show can give everyone a bit of an escape from any challenges the pandemic is bringing them. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

    #117 - Joseph Parker

Joseph Parker joins us on this weeks show fresh off his knockout performance at the Matchroom USA show in Texas. Joseph is always a top guy and opened up about what it’s like to be a heavyweight at the moment, his thoughts on all of the huge heavyweight fights coming up & what fights he’s targeting for the remainder of this year. The heavyweight division is on fire at the moment and we think Joseph might score some upsets this year to make it even more interesting.

We also welcome back to the show Froch’s Fascinating Facts of the Week and to mark this occasion, Carl serenaded us with an old Johnny Cash classic. Who knew the Cobra also had some singing talent?!

Additionally we breakdown all of the current boxing news, including the great Manchester show from the weekend which saw Jono Carroll beat Scott Quigg and the news that Scott is retiring from the sport. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

What a week for boxing news; confirmation that Deontay Wilder has executed his rematch clause for a trilogy fight with Tyson fury, Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev confirmed for June at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, DAZN officially announcing coming into the UK market, Canelo vs Billy Joe Saunders looking close to being done for May and so much more! With all this news who else could we get on to give their thoughts than the man who co-promotes the new heavyweight king, whilst also being the man who has lived all of the ups & downs in boxing for decades and is still at the top, Mr. Frank Warren! Frank is always box office when he gives an interview and this weeks episode is no different. Funny, honest and controversial all in one! All together now... This could be the BEST ONE YET. Spencer needs to take the lead

Good podcast guys, but stop answering questions for the people you interview.

Ask the question.... wait for a response, it’s a hard skill to do but essential!!

Spencer brings credibility and love listening to him.

needs stop loss control ,

Brilliant

Live these 2 man can’t stop laughing . Great knowledge about boxing from both guys.

RememberTheTime1927 ,

Atrocious.

I’m still not sure if this podcast is just one big joke that I’m somehow missing out on. That bald bloke off eastenders offers no insight save for the sound bites he picks up from the pundits on TV and the banter between him and Spencer is tedious.

Here’s a thought lads, and Jake in particular, for all your Fury loving, why don’t you speak about his failed drugs tests and crawl down out of his hole.
