Power of 3 Tom Harris
-
- TV & Film
-
A podcast discussing Doctor Who-related items, more often than not in threes, whether stories, guests, or anything else. Featuring Big Finish's Kenny Smith, and in the early episodes, regular appearances from Tom Harris (the former Labour MP) and David Steel (not the former Liberal Party MP, MSP and leader).
Dave still appears, as do Dr John Bollan and Stephen Day, with Tom fleetingly materialising.
We also have a host of great Doctor Who guests using "Kenny's bottomless address book" (c) David Steel.

226: Eater of Wasps
We really got a buzz from doing this episode, on the popular Eighth Doctor Adventures novel Eater of Wasps.
Kenny and guest co-conspirator Matt Michael look back at this novel from 2001, and share their dislike of the insects (aka "yellow gits"), and enjoy Trevor Baxendale sharing the origins of the story.
Plus, we also feature a reading from the end of the book too! -
225: Iceberg
We've been itching to bring you this episode for months - and here it is!
The Cyberleader himself, David Banks, has joined us to chat about writing Iceberg, his New Adventures novel, which was originally published in 1993.
Dave and Kenny both fanboy over David, as well as showing their love of his other book, Cybermen, which they both got in 1989. -
224: Time of Your Life
We've reached the Sixth Doctor, as we continue our adventures and our quest to feature a different incarnation each day.
We take a look at the first novel which expands on the era of the Sixth Doctor, long before Big Finish bought us Evelyn Smythe, Flip, Constance, Charley/Mila, or anyone else.
Author Steve Lyons joins us to chat, as Dave and Kenny share their (very positive) thoughts on the book. -
223: Lords of the Storm
We're in a fix with Sontarans in today's episode of The Power of 3!
Today, Kenny and guest co-conspirator Matt Michael discuss the first half of a two-part adventure, the prequel to the New Adventures release, Shakedown.
David A McIntee joins us - and reveals which monster was originally planned to feature in this novel! -
222: Managra
We're back with the classic Virgin line of Doctor Who books today, as we look at a Fourth Doctor Missing Adventure.
Kenny has tracked down author Stephen Marley, and the pair have an in-depth chat about writing the book, touching on Hammer Horror, Ingrid Pitt and a biography of the Virgin Mary, along the way.
A must for those who enjoy Gothic fiction! -
221: The Suns of Caresh
IF THIS book was an episode of Friends, it would be "The one Where the Doctor and Jo get their heads shaved on the cover".
Today, we venture into BBC Books territory and head to 2002, for The Suns of Caresh.
We chat with author Paul Saint (Paul Beardsley being his real name), to discuss this novel.
He's also got a new book out, published by Neosome, and can be bought online or directly from www.neosome.com, with signed copies available.
