Race and the Evangelical Church FIEC Resources for Church Leaders

    • Christianity

The death of George Floyd has sparked a global movement to once again address racial prejudice, and the church is not exempt from this.

To understand the issues at hand better, and to consider ways forward for white church leaders in FIEC churches, we spoke with two black church leaders : Andrew Gordon, a London City Missionary based at Donnington Evangelical Church, North West London, and Raymond Brown, minister at Grace Church Brockley, South East London.

We discussed their feelings in response to George Floyd's death and the protests that followed, what their experience of being black in Britain has been, and what the evangelical church, in particular white church leaders, can do to move forward in this.
