As a teenager studying and French Revolution, this came recommended by a friend. I have since graduated from the fall of the Ancien Regime etc, to Duncan’s commentary on the 1830 July Revolution, and the Springtime of the Peoples. Engaging and, at times, hilarious (‘a gaggle of Mandelas’ made me laugh out loud), I can barely exaggerate to what extent I recommend listening tuning in.

Spectacular podcast

This is a brilliant historical podcast that is both informative and accessible, while avoiding being patronising. I started by using the French Revolution section of the podcast for A level history revision, but have since begun listening to the rest for entertainment. The presenter has a charming voice and is very good at simplifying complex events. Overall an amazing podcast I cannot recommend enough.

Hands down the best podcast I’ve ever listened to

I once heard that the French Revolution was the most influential historical event on modern politics. I’m not sure this is true, but it made me want to learn more about that revolution regardless, and I’m a keen podcast listener, so I thought I’d learn through the medium of podcasts. That’s what brought me here, and I’m delighted it did. These podcasts are the most consistently entertaining and interesting of them all - covering fascinating historical events in a way that is somehow both concise and detailed. All told by a funny and charismatic (and clearly well informed) narrator, I’m afraid of the day that I finish catching up, and can no longer binge these. And that day is coming soon, because binging these podcasts is very very easy.
