S2E23: Bernard Butler
This week on Rockonteurs, Gary and Guy are in Sofia as their European tour with Nick Mason continues. But they still find time to speak to the brilliant Bernard Butler. A career as long and as eclectic is hard to find and in this fascinating conversation we discuss shared influences, his time in Suede, the stunning hit single ‘Yes’ with David McAlmont, his inner drive to move on and find new musical challenges, and his remarkable new album with Jessie Buckley ‘For All Our Days That Tear The Heart’ which is out on June 17th. Bernard is a great man.

S2E22: Ken Scott
This week on Rockonteurs, Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt continue their tour with Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets but still find time to talk to legendary record producer Ken Scott. Ken produced Elton John, Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, Jeff Beck, The Beatles and David Bowie to name but a few. He co-produced Ziggy Stardust, which this month celebrates its 50th anniversary, so expect a tale or 2 from the days at Trident making that record plus his time at Abbey Road, where he started at just 16 years old! Ken is a music fan, a British recording legend and a great storyteller.

Begin the day with a friendly voice
Been listening now in chronological order and makes the morning and evening commute that little less dreary with a great and diverse variety of guests. Catalogue has been consistently superb and just a great way to listen to some wonderful back stories. This and John de Christopher’s drum room chat are my go-to podcasts as both have great discussion and insight.
