At the start of the story Jon (56) weighs 306 pounds, is morphing into the sofa and can’t tie his own shoelaces.

Jon suddenly decides that it’s time for action and gets off his Fat Ass and starts walking.

Jon was a Type 2 Diabetic for 15 years but in just 15 weeks he lost 42 pounds and came off most of his diabetes and blood pressure medication.

His aim now is full reversal and a total weight loss of 121 pounds and full reversal of Type 2.

    Jon Gaunt says that although #covid-19 is clearly a threat we must also see the lockdown as an opportunity to redouble our efforts to lose weight and take back control of our lives.
    In this lively and informative podcast Jon make the point that it would be too easy to use this pandemic as an excuse to eat junk food and veg out on the sofa.
    Instead he says that we should take time to cook more or even learn how to cook with real food. We should exercise, meditate and take some time out for relaxation and to release stress.
    He also points to the fact that it seems that there is a link between being obese and Type 2 diabetic and survival chances if you end up on a respirator.
    So Jon says this is the perfect time to  take back control and eat really healthily with Low Carb High Fat meals and the #keto lifestyle.

    Jon Gaunt believes that gentle walking has not only improved his physical health but it has also helped and improved his mental health.
    Jon started off doing 10 thousand steps a day, about 5 miles, but has now built up to an average of 9 miles a day. He credits this regime with reversing his Type 2 diabetes, gout, erectile dysfunction and got his blood pressure back into the normal range. He has also got off all his meds.
    In this funny, honest but informative podcast Jon share his tips on how to beat obesity with walking Keto and LCHF eating.
    He states you do not have to buy a bike, or a gym membership but instead just get your old trainers on and walk.
    In this Simple as Fat podcast Jon also states that his mental health has massively improved. Jon is now aware of his surroundings and enjoys walking in the open air. 
    He is not only addicted to walking but he is actually addicted to mindful walking.
    Gaunty says that there is no excuse to not get the steps in every day and he has plenty of practical tips on how to do this in our busy lives.
    He has also discovered audible.co.uk and is now listening to books as he walks.
    He believes that this helps him relax whilst at the same time he is losing weight and getting fit. He has read or listened to Robinson Crusoe, Jane Eyre, Beloved amongst loads of others. So Jon says he is training his body and mind at the same time and that you should try it too.

    Jon has just been fitted with hearing aids and he cannot believe the difference they have made to his life.
    As part of his journey back to normality Jon thinks that the weight loss and the reversal of his Type 2 diabetes has given him the confidence to sort out his hearing.
    Being overweight and deafness have a lot in common as they both have the effect of isolating you and perhaps making you depressed.
    Not having a hearing test is the equivalent of not looking at your reflection in a shop window.
    It is a form of denial and Jon realised he had to confront it.
    So now he has hearing aids and a second mortgage to pay for them! But joking aside he has more confidence and greater self-esteem.
    Jon believes that the hearing aids like the bike he has just bought is all about him investing in himself and he thinks this is vital if you wish to lose weight and change your life with Simple as Fat.

    Jon Gaunt has finally treated himself and bought a bike.
    As you now he puts his weight loss and reversal of his Type 2 Diabetes mostly down to eating Low Carb High Fat real food (LCHF) but he now wants to venture further and for that he says he needs a bike.
    However Jon states he is not having a mid-life crisis and he is certainly not going to be dressing in lycra and riding on our pot strewn roads. No, Jon has invested in a mountain bike which cost £750.
    One of his fans on Simple as Fat remarked that they had spent the same amount on a car to which Jon replied, "yes but the car isn't going to get me fit is it?!"
    Jon states that he has invested in himself and in his future and in this podcast he talks about how important it is for everyone who wants to lose weight to do the same and for once to put themselves first.
    He says even though he has fallen off his bike it just made him giggle and riding downhill at speed has made him feel 18 again.
    Jon is beginning to realise that taking back control of his body is great but taking back control of his mind is the next step in his journey to become a better man, husband and father!

    In this funny and thoughtful, Simple as Fat free podcast Jon calls for Low Carb High Fat diets to be accepted as a third way of reversing Type 2 Diabetes and curing the obesity epidemic.
    He rages about how much more evidence will be needed before medical authorities and dietary guidelines accept the blindingly obvious evidence in front of their eyes that people all around the globe are curing themselves by eating real food.
    Jon says saturated fat is not the problem, it is excess sugar that is at the heart of the problem and major diseases like Type 2 diabetes, strokes, heart disease, obesity and dementia.
    But no, the medical authorities are still refusing to alter their dietary advice and still insist that their Eatwell plate is the best way to eat and that the guidelines of a third of your plate being starchy carbs. Jon says this is just plain wrong. Jon calls it the “eat Death plate.”
    Meanwhile Big Pharma is now suggesting that they could have a flab injection to cure obesity? More drugs!
    Ex-BBC News presenter, Michael Buerk, has entered the fray telling fat people that they are fat because they simply eat too much. His ignorance is stupendous. This from the man who brought the Ethiopian famine to the West could have used his communication skills to help with the obesity problem and its victims rather than stigmatise them.
    Jon rages that Buerk by name Burk by nature is ignorant of insulin resistance and should apologise and get himself educated.
    Finally, Gaunty has a go at the United Nations who have joined the propaganda machine of the vegans and is recommending a fad and unhealthy vegan diet.
    Jon states that the links between Big Food/Big Pharma and Government dietary guidelines must be broken as there is a genocide being committed around the globe.
    However, Jon controversially states that telling people that they are fat is not bullying or “fat shaming” but plain common sense medical advice.

Fantastic motivation!

Listened to a few of these about a year ago. Recommended it to my missus when she wanted us to lose weight. This podcast and lifestyle are brilliant, motivational and very easy to adapt to! You could say it’s simple as fat! ;)
