Is racism preventing Single Musilms from getting married? Conversation with Nailah Dean

To help us understand this issue better, I have Nailah Dean from the US. She wrote an article that you can read on Al Jazeera.com ‘The hidden racism of the Muslim marriage market’ She outlines why we cannot defeat racism if we continue to allow cultural biases to govern who we love or who we let our children marry.

Love this Positive Podcast for Muslim Women

Farhat intelligently challenges our cultural notions around gender roles, feminism and identity. It's nice to hear a Muslim woman who makes me question where I get my values from rather then just telling me I'm 'amazing' just the way I am. If you think encouraging Muslimas to obey Allah is misogynistic, then you won’t like this podcast.

Refreshing!!!

I recently came across this. Love the content and the clarity of the delivery.

Disappointed

I really wanted to like this podcast and listened to over 10 episodes but I had to give up. It is too negative and misogynistic in its view of women especially Muslim women.
There are so many interesting and successful women invited yet they all focus on criticising women who are not as steadfast or as knowledgeable as they are and that is unacceptable and insulting.

Rather than focusing on how we can improve and flourish as western Muslims, it focuses on criticism and negativity.
