Great practice
This podcast is a great way to practice a bit of Russian listening. The short format makes it good to have on in the car and the teacher covers an interesting range of topics. Once I finish them all I just start again.
спасибо Эльвира!
Clear, interesting and well constructed
I really like this podcast. I’ve been learning Russian via Skype and with books for a couple of years now and this is an incredibly useful addition. I listen to it in the car, as I drive a lot for my job.
Elvira speaks clearly and slowly and repeats the vocabulary to help the listener take it all in. The lessons are well structured in small series of 4 or 5 lessons of around 5 to 8 minutes each, all building on a topic.
I particularly like the way she gives historical and social context - explaining what different age groups might feel comfortable saying with slang for example. She’s also good at pointing out potential pitfalls in the language.
Russian can be a bit of a slog sometimes but she makes it as painless as possible. Highly recommended
