Welcome to ‘stock Talk, where the conversation revolves around the

revolutionary EdTech conference, Podstock! Sure, it’s all about learning

the latest technology for schools, but it’s also just a whole lot of

fun! Because Podstock is more than a conference. It’s a community. It’s

a happening. But most of all it’s a family. Welcome home!

The purpose of ‘stock Talk is to share the inside view of Podstock: how it

started, how it grew, the growing community involvement, and the way it

has redefined “professional learning” for the participants. Come with us

as we explore what pieces make this unique event work.

Put A Little STEM Into Your Writing (STEM Everyday #30)

Put A Little STEM Into Your Writing (STEM Everyday #30)

For many of us we are just starting a new school year.  Don’t just have your students write about what they did this summer, this is a great time to put a little stem into their writing.  Find a STEM topic and challenge them to rise to the occasion and see what they can do to conquer your challenge.

For instance  you can use something like the following web site to ignite a students creativity. Twelve Ways the World Could End… http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/g696/12-ways-the-world-could-really-end-in-2012/  Topics like  what how can you stop an astroid that will destroy the earth or you need to stop an influenza pandemic can get your students wanting to write and become creative as they do so.

Join Chris to hear ways to use STEM to spark creative writing.
