Episode 264 - Michael Des Barres

We talk to Michael Des Barres - Actor, Singer, Radio DJ and Rock & Roll Icon. With a career that encapsulates enough rock excess and debauchery for several bands, not just one person, it's incredible to find that Michael Des Barres continues to be as outgoing and creative as ever. Whether we find him as a villain on our TV screens in MacGyver, fronting The Power Station at Live Aid, writing chart topping songs like 'Obsession' with Holly Knight or just being the larger than life character unlike no other, it's a joy to hear any story or memory he wants to share.

A nice change from the norm

A really fun and informal set of conversations. There are plenty of podcasts out there that feel like the classic 'chat show' interview transferred to the medium, but Rob's stuff is a different take and really enjoybale for it. Of course it may leave you wanting to know more, and when you don't 'know' the guest you may feel that you're missing out - but then you can always go and investigate. When you do 'know' the guest, then there are often great bits in there that feel that bit more personal to the story.

Excellent podcast

Really enjoyable podcast. Rob's got a great, conversational interview style. Seems to get a lot out of his guests.

A Great Podcast

As with most of my daily podcasts I discovered this show when an artist I like (Ginger) appeared on it but soon became hooked, its a good sign when you can enjoy listening to guests you have little or no interest in talk about themselves which in turn leads you to check out their music or art, Rob has nailed this and his background in the music industry provides him with the knowledge to engage and relate to his guests that other hosts may lack.
Great show.
