CP3 + Jae Crowder + Jalen Smith - Exciting Suns Offseason Moves!

On this week's episode of the Sunny in PHX podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich talk about the three huge new additions to the Phoenix Suns roster. One by trade, one by draft, one by free agency.

The guys start things off with talking about the acquisition of Chris Paul, and everything that comes along with him. The prospect of a leader who can talk the talk, as well as walk the walk, have the guys very excited. See what they have to say about what Paul will do for guys like Booker and Ayton.

After the Paul discussion, the guys talk about the surprising #10 pick in the draft, Jalen Smith. The feeling here is very similar to the Cam Johnson pick, and the guys hope things go a direction just like that this year.

Free agency started with a bang, while the Suns watched many free agents cash huge checks. The Suns stayed patient and landed Jae Crowder to a 3 year deal. Listen in to see the impact a guy like Crowder will have on these playoff bound Suns.

Thanks for tuning in, drop a line @sunnyinphxpod - and we'll talk to you in a couple weeks. Go Suns!

Ep. 250: 2020 NBA Draft Preview

This week on the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Mitch Krmpotich and Charlie Erling talk about the news about the NBA Preseason. The NBA Preseason will take place from December 11th-19th, and teams will have the opportunity to play three or four preseason games, and must host one of them. We discuss what to expect when it comes to the fan experience during preseason, and more.

After that, the guys dive back into the draft. A couple names that Suns fans have been talking about lately are Kira Lewis Jr. and Obi Toppin. Mitch starts off by talking about Lewis's strengths and how he could fit in on the Suns roster, while making some comparisons to Leandro Barbosa. Then, Charlie talks about how Obi Toppin could earn minutes during his rookie year on the Suns, due to his incredible athleticism and ability to finish at the rim.

Ep. 247: Nash + Amare and NBA Offseason Update

On this episode of the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich start off the show by discussing the newest coaching hire of the Brooklyn Nets, Amare Stoudemire. The guys talk about Stoudemire and Steve Nash reuniting in Brooklyn, and project what Suns fans will think about this. After that, they discuss what Stoudemire will bring to the Nets as a coach.

After the Nash-Stoudemire convo, the guys talk about the newest news about the NBA offseason. The draft is still on-schedule for November 18th, and word on the street is that the season could start before Christmas. This puts NBA front offices in a pinch, as they have less than 40 days to navigate through an entire offseason. With that, the guys discuss what the best plan of action is for the Suns. Keep ahold of all our free agents? Or make a splash in this wild offseason? What do you think they should do? Let us know on Twitter @sunnyinphxpod. Go Suns!

    Ep. 246: Suns Season Review

    Ep. 246: Suns Season Review

This week on the Sunny in PHX Podcast, Charlie Erling and Mitch Krmpotich break down the 2019-20 Phoenix Suns NBA season. The show begins recounting the Suns hot 7-4 start to the season, and then moves into the 25 game Deandre Ayton suspension. That leads into a talk about how much Aron Baynes, Dario Saric, and Frank Kaminsky stepped up to fill the hole the Ayton left early on in the season. After that, the guys touch on the wing trio of Kelly Oubre Jr., Mikal Bridges, and Cameron Johnson. Spoiler alert: Charlie and Mitch love all three of these guys and talk about why they want them all to be back on the roster next season and beyond.

After the season review, the guys discuss the new NBA draft process, and what it entails this season due to COVID-19. The Suns have already done quite a few interviews over Zoom, and have already met with Alabama's Kira Lewis Jr. twice. Other interviewees include: Tre Jones, Tyrell Terry, Zeke Nnaji, Jalen Smith, and Precious Achiuwa. These players all look to be projected in the late lottery, but there is also some discussion about the Suns trading back in the draft.

What did you think of the Suns season? Who would you like to see the Suns draft? Let us know on Twitter @sunnyinphxpod and we will be sure to get back to you. Thanks for listening and GO SUNS!
