Customer Reviews
You win my week!
Let me just start by saying that I REALLY like this podcast, and of all the regular Sci-Fi Wire ones it’s the only one I’ll consistently listen to no matter what the topic is. The hosts are all fantastic, and I really enjoy the level of discussion they have.
That said, it’s a shame that quite often I need to skip large chunks of the podcast simply because of the spoiler-heavy discussions they have on films that have literally just come out. I get that it’s a weekly podcast so there isn’t much way around it, but unless you’re someone who can get to the cinema quickly you either run the risk of getting spoiled or you just don’t end up listening to those parts. Sure I could go and revisit them later, but with it being so regular by the time I’ve usually seen the film in question there’s already another episode out. Again I’m not really sure how much can be done without curtailing the conversation a bit, but I’m not sure that’s the answer either when the discussions tend to be so good!
Quit the bickering and respect each other more!
You guys have the makings of a really good show, you are all engaging and have some interesting opinions to bring to the fore. However you need to stop with the constant arguing and needling and talking over each other , respect your fellow pod casters and let them finish their point before you disagree with it. When the hosts are tutting sighing and rolling their collective eyes at each other, we your listeners are doing the same at the show.
Keep working on the show it has loads of potential but please treat each other with a bit more respect, you will each enjoy recording it more and we will all enjoy listening to the show more too.
Happy to come back and up my review stars as the show goes on.
Cheers
Fozza
Long time listener of this great show
My respect and enjoyment of this show runs deep.
I can not believe my first contact with the show is a negative. I want to balance this out by awarding a 5 start rating.
But I am reaching breaking point where I might have to regretfully stop listening.
One of the regular presenters has been consistently getting worse as a broadcaster and is now dominating the conversation and talking over the other hosts. There is no real analysis just confused spoilerly summaries of things. And my sense is that the other presenters are increasingly perceiving this and it is bleeding into the show in subtle little comments.
I’m not calling for anyone’s head on a spike. Just some feedback for the blurredgurl to dial it back a tad. If I’m the only listener writing in then with this then apologies - it’s just me. But if there is other sentiment like this then please do give it some thought. It’s hurting a great show.
Best,
T
