Finally a voice and a platform to build from

Having been raised on a London Council estate, I'm immensely proud of my working class roots and this wonderful, honest and inspiring podcast fills me with so much joy.
In an industry that appears to be stifling and suffocating the growth and talents of artists from percieved under privledged backgrounds (18% is a staggering statistic) this is an essential listen and an important platform to hopefully bring about change and allow those working hard on the front line to share their stories.
Thanks for shining a light, raising the volume and giving hope.
I guess we're called working class because we bloody work hard. x

A podcast with a lot of heart and working class soul

You never quite know when you’re listening to interviews, whether the interviewer and interviewee are going to click well enough to produce and interview that holds the listener’s attention through...
If this is a concern of yours, worry not!
Tom Mayhew delivers a perfect balance to his interviews. He allows his guests enough freedom and comfort to talk openly about their relationship with their field and how being working class has helped to shape it, sometimes in-spite of the hurdles and prejudices they’ve had to overcome.
Drawing upon his own experiences of being working class in the entertainment industry he engages with his guests without making himself a focal point, leaving them to be frank and honest about their experiences.
He’s created (with the help of Producer Olivia) a podcast that I empathise with and have a lot of love for and can only see it going from strength to strength with every guest he brings to the table.
