Welcome to The Adversity Psychologist Podcast!

I am Dr Tara, a qualified and regulated Psychologist with over 20 years experience in helping people overcome adversity in their lives. Come and join me and my guests as we hear their heartfelt and inspiring stories and help you learn how to apply psychological principles to manage your wellbeing following adversity.
We will cover sleep, grief and loss, disability, mental health, injury, trauma, illness, stress, anxiety, depression, coping, setbacks, financial adversity, stigma and much more.

In this episode I talk to the incredible Richard Hamlin, Ex Police Officer and owner and Director of Define Leadership Ltd about Safeguarding and vicarious trauma. Amongst his many roles over a long-standing career, Richard was head of crime training for Surrey & Sussex Police, Head of Anti-Corruption and Head of Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub and Head of Economic Crime and Proactive Crime. He was also District Commander in Surrey.
