Episode 169 - Suit Up, Soldier

A heaping cup of rock, a spoonful of sultry ballads, and a pinch of pop.

Suit Up, Soldier was founded by vocalist Wesley Monahan while in college. After several years honing the band's sound and lineup in the competitive Provo music scene, Suit Up, Soldier coalesced with the additions of McKay 'Spartacus' Johnson on drums and Ryan 'Stingray' Rostrom on lead guitar. The band dropped their debut album 'Curse the Day I Act My Age' on May 14, 2021 on all digital music platforms.

The album quickly generated buzz and has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify. This led to regional touring, opportunities to open for established rock acts such as COIN and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and a record deal. The album is now available in physical CD format via Renaissance Records, and the band hopes you'll follow them on social media for updates on tour dates and new releases.

    Episode 167 - White Shores

    Episode 167 - White Shores

Philly emo/alternative rock crew White Shores came to life in 2020 and, bonded by a love of 00s and 10s alternative rock and pop-punk, delivered debut EP, 'The Decay' of December that year.

Nodding to the likes of Mayday Parade, Yellowcard and The Wonder Years, the East Coast outfit marry a dexterous melting pot of influences, showcasing a deft balance of emo, melodic punk and power-pop.

Showing plenty of potential, as well as the fierceness and honesty that would come to define their sound, White Shores quickly picked up regional acclaim, debuting on Philadelphia's Alt 104.5.

FUN FACT: "They landed on White Shores", a quote from epic film Lord the Rings – Return of the King is where the band's name derives from.

New EP, 'Rain Upon The Glass' is out now.

    Episode 166 - Obsidian Mind

    Episode 166 - Obsidian Mind

Obsidian Mind is a metalcore band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was four years ago when guitarist, Jacob Daugherty started writing and brainstorming for the new project he had in mind. After a few years of hard work, through proving times and while searching for the right lineup, a foundation was finally achieved. Jacob has since moved from guitar to lead vocals, alongside Obsidian Mind's other members Stephen Dunham(guitar), John Schneider(bass), and Jordan Vidas(drums/vocals).

The band's personal music interests greatly vary between artists like August Burns Red, Jinjer, Silent Planet, Erra, Periphery, Suicide Silence, Northlane, Panic at the Disco, Rush, and Morris Day and the Time. As for influences in their writing, Obsidian Mind's goal is to combine some of their favorite styles of metalcore into a perfect blend of heavy, rhythmic, and melodic sounds. When it comes to the meaning of their music, it is easy for listeners to feel a multitude of emotions. The songs are exciting, dark, and beautiful all at once, with a bigger picture beyond the lyrics. That bigger picture is the inherent connection between people, as many of us are all the same, we go through hardships, but none of us have to do it alone. Obsidian Mind hopes to connect and build a relationship with their audience through their art, with the hopes of having a positive impact on people, no matter how big or small.

FFO: Erra, Northlane, Volumes, Counterparts, Wage War

Episode 164 - Aaron Rush of PlainView

PlainView is an up and coming “emo” band hailing out of Southeast Michigan. The band takes roots in that which is sometimes forgotten, but was the main hub for some of the earliest punk rock around. This is the early emo scene approach of bringing an exciting live show and catchy choruses that keep the fans on their feet and yelling every word at the top of their lungs like their life depended on it.
Featuring members, Steven Dechausse, Aaron Rush, Andrew Momeyer, Zach Schroeder, and Chris Parker.
The band formed in early 2020, with one sole mission at hand. REVIVE THE EMO SCENE! PlainView is definitely taking the scene by storm with an incredible team behind them over at CB Entertainment. With their melodic vocals, driving guitar riffs, and soaring choruses, this band will leave you wanting more.
