March 2026. Oh dear. What has happened to the Chris Moyles show? As an avid listener from the very beginning, back in the 90s, this has to be its lowest point. 2 words - Bring Back Pippa. Listening to these podcasts, oh how we long for the days of Dave Masterman, Matt, James and Pippa. And even Sam the audio guy, who was entertaining without even trying. James got out at just the right time, and he knew it. The replacements for these guys, I’m sure they’re lovely people, but it’s just not gelling. Some shows poor Chris sits there and gets absolutely nothing from them, no witty quips, no amusing anecdotes. You can hear it in his voice - he knows what’s happening. There are shows where we don’t hear a single thing from the current crop and it’s all down to Chris and Dom, who remains a stalwart of the show, to keep things moving. It’s actually when Toby stands in for Chris that Dom comes alive, when he’s not hiding under Chris’s bushel. It’s a sad time but at least we have the old podcasts to listen to, to remind us of what the good times sound like …we didn’t know how lucky we were.
